About NetID
About NetID Your NetID is the Colorado State University System electronic identity for students, faculty, and staff. NetID replaced CSU Fort Collins eIDs and eNames and CSU Pueblo eAccounts and is now used at both universities. NetID was introduced to CSU Fort Collins in July 2022 and fully implemented in July 2023. It has also been fully adopted by CSU Pueblo. The adoption of NetID as the shared electronic identity enables increased collaboration, shared resources, and an improved student experience across the CSU System. Using NetID demonstrates the partnership between the CSU campuses in Fort Collins and Pueblo and represents a major milestone in the evolution of the CSU System. Manage Your NetID Students, faculty, and staff can visit the NetID website to manage their identity, passwords, and Two-Factor Authentication settings. Visit the NetID Website Applicable to: All CSU System, Fort Collins, Pueblo, Spur staff, faculty, students, affiliates Related NetID Questions: Who has a NetID? All students, faculty and staff at CSU Fort Collins and CSU Pueblo have NetIDs. The format of the NetID will depend on when you joined the university. See What is the format of a NetID for more information. How do I manage my NetID or update my password? Students, faculty, and staff can visit the NetID website to manage their identity, passwords, and Two-Factor Authentication settings. What do I use to log in to M365 resources? When logging in to portal.office.com, Outlook, Teams or other Microsoft applications, you will use: email: @colostate.edu example: xgarcia@colostate.edu OR C812345678@colostate.edu password: Do not log in with your first.last@colostate.edu, or first.last@csupueblo.edu. You must use NetID@colostate.edu What do I use to log into CSU Systems and applications? The single sign-on authentication page that grants access to several key university systems prompts users for their NetID and password. Can I change My NetID? Can I opt to update my eName to the new NetID (C+9) format? Due to the many CSU and federated systems that use this information as your unique identifier through single sign-on, we are unable to change eIDs/eNames to the new NetID format. What is the NetID password policy? NetID passwords expire one year after they were created or last changed. CSU’s IT Security Policy requires annual password changes and that your password must adhere to certain rules that make it difficult for someone else to guess. How long will people retain access to their account after they leave CSU? The expiration of NetID accounts depends on your affiliation with the University. See NetID expiration NetID accounts for CSU Fort Collins faculty, staff, and associates expire 30 days after their University affiliation ends, due to Microsoft 365 licensing costs and other considerations.
