How to Request Temporary NetID Reactivation or Extension
Description
You may request a temporary reactivation or an extension of your NetID expiration date if you have recently left CSU and your official CSU affiliation ended but you still need short-term access to your:

Former and returning CSU Fort Collins and CSU Pueblo students, faculty, staff, and associates
Prerequisites
Before requesting, review these requirements:

One-time limit: You may request only one 14-day extension or reactivation of your NetID.

Timing: Your NetID must be:

Expiring in the next 30 days, or:
- Expired less than 30 days ago

Important: If your NetID expired more than 30 days ago, your associated Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace accounts have been permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Determine Your NetID Eligibility
If your NetID account is still active or recently expired but you are not returning to CSU, you may still be eligible for temporary access. To check eligibility,

Select Menu > My Account > Show My Information.

Log in with your NetID if prompted.

Scroll to the NetID Account Status section.

Review your Life Cycle State.

Active Account: Your account is active and not expiring.

Expiration Cycle: Check the following fields:

Can Temporarily Extend Expiration? - If Yes, you can request a temporary extension.

Can Reactivate? - If Yes, you can request a temporary reactivation.

Can Deactivate? - if Yes, you can deactivate your account.
To keep your NetID active indefinitely and remove the expiration date, you must reestablish your NetID Eligibility.

Request Temporary Extension or Reactivation
- You may request a temporary extension or reactivation if your affiliation is being extended/reactivated, or your primary assignment is changing, but HR processes are not complete before your NetID expires.

Contact your HR Liaison: If your NetID has not expired, find your HR Liaison's email:
- If your HR Liaison authorizes, they can either use the extension/reactivation form or submit the request to the campus help desk.

Important: CSU System IT staff cannot process extensions or reactivations for faculty, staff, or associates without explicit authorization from your HR Liaison or central HR.

Reestablish Affiliation
- If your affiliation or primary assignment needs correction or reactivation, contact your HR Liaison or your campus's central HR office.

Outcome
Once your NetID is reactivated or extended, you can access your NetID and Microsoft 365 (and Google Workspace, if applicable) until your new expiration date.
If you are not returning to CSU, review instructions for preparing for expiration of your NetID and CSU accounts and consider requesting NetID deactivation.
