NetID Eligibility
This document describes who is eligible to receive and activate a NetID and how to establish NetID eligibility by becoming affiliated with CSU.
Applicable to:
- New, current, and former Fort Collins and Pueblo applicants, students, faculty, staff, and associates
Prerequisites
For your NetID to be created,
- Applicants must have created an application for admission to CSU Fort Collins or CSU Pueblo.
- Faculty, staff, and associates must have been hired and entered into the Human Resources system.
To be able to activate your NetID,
- You need to be a CSU applicant, admitted student, or recently hired faculty, staff or associate with a new NetID, or you have returned to CSU after your NetID expired.
- Faculty and staff must have an active, primary assignment in the Human Resources system.
- Your NetID needs to be in the Awaiting Activation Life Cycle state. Your NetID must not be already active, expiring or expired.
How to establish NetID eligibility
You can establish (or reestablish) your eligibility for a NetID in one of the following ways:
- Register for a credit course.
- Become a full-time or part-time employee.
- Become an associate. (Contact the department with which you have a working relationship.)
If you have already reestablished your eligibility but the NetID system is not yet recognizing it, know that it can take time for staff to make data changes in their systems, and for automated processes to send the data to the NetID system.
For assistance, please contact the appropriate office (Admissions, the Registrar, CSU Online, or the Human Resources liaison of your department). They can view NetID person data and check and make any necessary updates to their systems.
