GlobalProtect Script Error: An error has occurred in the script on this page

This document covers troubleshooting an error with the GlobalProtect client for Windows.


Symptoms

Use this article if you receive a Script Error popup that reads "An error has occurred in the script on this page" when attempting to connect to GlobalProtect. If you receive a Script Error popup that says "Exception thrown and not caught" and "Object doesn't support property or method 'addEventListener'", refer to this article instead.


Resolution

  1. Open Internet Options. It can be found by searching the Start menu.
    • If you are unable to modify your device's Internet Options, please contact your department's IT support staff.
  2. On the Security tab, click the "Trusted sites" zone, then click the Sites button.
  3. In the "Trusted sites" popup, paste the following into the field labeled "Add this website to the zone": https://sso-0954f67e.sso.duosecurity.com
  4. Click the Add button next to the field, then click the Close button in the "Trusted sites" popup.
  5. In Internet Options window, click the Apply button followed by the OK button.
  6. Try connecting to GlobalProtect again.
