Your NetID Password is the password you use to log into your CSU email account and CSU System NetID services. This article outlines the specific password requirements for creating a secure account. Following these guidelines ensures that user accounts remain secure and comply with the CSU System's security policies.

Password Length: Your password must be between 15 to 30 characters.

Letters: a-z, A-Z

Special Characters: ~ ` ! % ^ _ - + [ ] { } | : . ?

Disallowed/Forbidden Characters:
- Spaces (blank)
- @ # $ & * ( ) = \ ; ' " < > , /

Additional Restrictions:
- Do not include your CSU ID, legal first name, or legal last name in your password.
- Do not use a single word found in a dictionary, even if it meets the length requirement.
- Do not reuse a password that you have previously used for this account.
- Do not repeat any character 5 or more times consecutively (e.g., "aaaaabbbbbccccc").
