Echo360 Universal Capture: Personal is PC and Mac software used by instructors for creating EchoVideo recordings that are shared with your classes.

Prerequisites

Log in to your Echo360 account.
- Assure that you have an Echo360 course section, unless you just want to create content for your Echo360 library. All your Banner courses and sections should be automatically created for you in Echo360.
Instructions
Download and Install

Download Universal Capture: Personal software from Settings > Downloads.

Install the software by double-clicking the downloaded installation file.
Launch and Log In

Launch the software from a shortcut, the Windows start menu, or the Mac Applications folder.
- If prompted to log in, click the Log in icon, enter your First.Last@colostate.edu email address, log in with your CSU NetID, and allow access to the application from your browser if prompted.
Start a Recording

Select the inputs you want to record (camera/webcam, audio/microphone, and one or more screen displays).

Click Capture or the pencil icon.

Enter a title, description, and any tags to describe and group videos.
- In Publish To... select a section so the recording can upload directly into your Echo360 course.
- If you omit this step, your recording will upload to your Echo360 Main Library. You can still share or assign it to a course later.

Check Live Stream if you will be streaming video to your students live.

Click Save to return to the main screen.

Click the red Record button in the lower right. Make a 5-minute test recording.
Press pause or stop, and watch it upload to your library.

Go to your Echo360 library and wait until the thumbnail changes from Processing to the completed and named video.
Hover over the completed thumbnail, and in the bottom right corner, click the box with three white dots, or ellipsis.
Select View to watch the video and confirm all is working.
Adjust your settings if necessary.
NOTE: You students will engage successfully with 5 to 10 minute segments by topic, rather than an hour long lecture. Reimagine how your topics can spring to life when split into bite-sized recordings. Consider an introduction, topic background or prerequisite refresher, main topic, subtopics, application of topic, and maybe a conclusion. All this can be easily started and stopped to create several recordings with Echo360 Universal Capture.
