How to Add the Barnes & Noble College Course Materials Link to Blackboard Courses (Instructors)
Instructors teaching at CSU Pueblo must add the Barnes & Noble College "Course Materials" tool in Blackboard to ensure students can access their required digital course content through the Pack Ready and First Day® Complete program. This article provides step-by-step instructions for both Blackboard Original and Blackboard Ultra course views. Prerequisites
You must be assigned as an instructor of record in a Blackboard course.
You must have Edit Mode enabled in your Blackboard course.
Your course must be included in the Pack Ready program.
What is Pack Ready and First Day® Complete?
Pack Ready is CSU Pueblo’s First Day® Complete program through Barnes & Noble College. Students receive all required course materials on or before the first day of class for a flat fee per credit hour. Instructors must add the Barnes & Noble tool link in Blackboard to make digital materials accessible to students. Learn more at the CSU Pueblo Pack Ready webpage.
Set Up the Course Materials Link
Blackboard Original Course View
Open your Blackboard course and make sure Edit Mode is on (toggle in the top right corner).
Click the + sign at the top of the course menu (on the left).
Select Content Area from the drop-down menu.
Type Course Materials for the Name.
Check the box for Available to Users.
Click Submit.
Open the newly created Course Materials area.
Hover over the Build Content menu.
Click VitalSource Course Materials.
Type Course Materials for the Name.
Click Submit.
Repeat these steps for any additional sections that require the link.
Blackboard Ultra Course View
Open your Blackboard course.
In the right-hand navigation, under Books & Tools, click View course & institution tools.

Find VitalSource Course Materials in the list.
Click the + sign to add it to your Course Content area.
Click the eye icon to make the link visible to students.
