Applicable to: Pueblo
Affiliation: Students, Faculty, Staff, Guests
Prerequisites
Save your presentation or teaching materials to a USB drive, personal laptop, and/or cloud storage (e.g., OneDrive).
Have your CSU credentials (eName and password) ready if using the provided workstation.
Bring a laptop charger and any required video adapters (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, USB-C) if connecting an external device.
Important: If you plan to use classroom cameras, you must use the professor workstation computer. Cameras will not work on external devices.
Instructions
-
Option 1: Use the professor workstation
Turn on the workstation if it is powered off.
Log in using the Prof account.
Open a browser or Microsoft 365 apps (e.g., PowerPoint, Teams).
Sign in with your CSU credentials to access cloud-based files.
-
Option 2: Plug in your external laptop or device
Connect your laptop using the appropriate cable: HDMI, DisplayPort (DP), VGA, or USB-C.
Use a video adapter if your laptop doesn't have a matching port.
Power on your laptop and ensure it is set to mirror or extend your display.
-
Note: External laptops:
Cannot access or use classroom cameras.
Will only display on the left monitor. The right monitor is reserved for extended desktop use by the professor workstation only.
Only one device can be projected at a time. Switching between the professor workstation and a laptop must be done through the Extron touchpanel.
-
Use the Extron touchpanel to select input and control audio/video
Tap the Extron touchpanel screen to wake it if needed.
-
Select the appropriate input source:
Adjust volume using the touchpanel volume buttons.
Mute/unmute audio using the touchpanel’s speaker icon or the mute/unmute button on the right side of the touchpanel.
Note: The mute button on the left side of the touchpanel blanks the projector display (turns off the image shown on screen) — it does not power off the projector.
-
Present your content
-
From the workstation:
Insert your USB drive or open cloud files from OneDrive.
Launch your slides, documents, or videos.
If using Teams, start or join a meeting and share your screen.
-
From your own device:
Open your presentation or app.
Ensure the projector is displaying your screen correctly.
Play media and control it directly from your laptop.
-
When finished
Sign out of Microsoft 365 (if used).
Close all open programs or files.
Log off the Prof account if you used the workstation.
Unplug your external laptop and any adapters.
On the computer, click the Reset Power icon to shut it down.
On the Extron touchpanel, tap Power Down to turn off the AV system.
Outcome
You’ll be able to present from either the professor workstation or your own device, control the projector and audio using the Extron touch panel, use classroom cameras when needed, and shut everything down properly at the end of class.
