This document covers troubleshooting an error with the GlobalProtect client for Windows.

Symptoms

Use this article if you receive an error that reads "The virtual adapter was not set up correctly due to a delay. GlobalProtect will try again soon" when attempting to connect to GlobalProtect.

Resolution

1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
   • If you are unable to open an administrative Command Prompt, please contact your department's IT support staff.
2. Run the following command:
   • net stop winmgmt
3. Run the following command:
   • winmgmt /resetrepository
4. Reboot your device, then try connecting to GlobalProtect again.

If the issue persists, please try the following:

1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
   • If you are unable to open an administrative Command Prompt, please contact your department's IT support staff.
2. Run the following command:
   • net stop winmgmt
3. Open Explorer and navigate to Windows\System32\wbem.
4. Rename the folder "Repository" to "Respository.old".
5. In your administrative command prompt, run the following command:
   • net start winmgmt
6. Reboot your device, then try connecting to GlobalProtect again.
