GlobalProtect for ChromeOS opens an "Access Denied" web page

This document covers troubleshooting an error with the GlobalProtect client for ChromeOS.


Symptoms

Use this article if attempting to connect to GlobalProtect causes Chrome to open a new tab that reads "Access Denied".


Resolution

  1. Open the Settings application, navigate to the Apps section and click the "Manage your apps" button.
  2. Click GlobalProtect in the apps list.
  3. In the "Supported links" section, make sure that it is set to "Open in GlobalProtect" rather than "Open in Chrome".
