Symptoms
Use this article if the GlobalProtect client produces the error "Could not connect to the GlobalProtect service. Make sure the GlobalProtect service is running. If the issue persists, contact your administrator" when you click the Connect button.
Resolution
- Open Startup Apps.
- Find GlobalProtect in the list of startup apps and confirm that its switch is set to On.
- Allowing GlobalProtect to start with your computer will not automatically connect you to the VPN; you will still need to open GlobalProtect and click the Connect button.
- If you changed this setting, reboot your computer.
- Try connecting to GlobalProtect again.
If the error persists, follow these instructions:
- Uninstall GlobalProtect, and install it again from scratch.
- If prompted to allow GlobalProtect to start automatically, do so.
- Reboot your computer.
- Try connecting to GlobalProtect again.
