GlobalProtect Script Error: Object doesn't support property or method 'addEventListener'

Symptoms
Use this article if you receive a Script Error popup that reads "Exception thrown and not caught" and "Object doesn't support property or method 'addEventListener'" when attempting to connect to GlobalProtect. If you receive a Script Error popup that says "An error has occurred in the script on this page", refer to this article instead.
Resolution
- Open Internet Options. It can be found by searching the Start menu.
- If you are unable to modify your device's Internet Options, please contact your department's IT support staff.
- On the Connections tab, click the "LAN settings" button.
- In the "Local Area Network (LAN) Settings" window, uncheck "Use automatic configuration script", then click the OK button.
- In the Internet Properties window, click the Apply button.
- Try connecting to GlobalProtect again.
